MODERN 911 – GREAT ESCAPE WEEKEND RUN

SATURDAY 16th & SUNDAY 17th of NOVEMBER 2013

All Modern 911 drivers with their partners, in fact anyone with a Porsche, is invited to a weekend run through the Otway Ranges and down to Port Campbell. We will travel down the back roads stopping off for morning coffee at the Moriac Store Café, lunch at the famous Chris’s Restaurant at Beacon Point with views across to the Southern Ocean, then along the Great Ocean Road via Lavers Hill to the 12 Apostles and staying the night at Port Campbell. Dinner is at the local Seafood Bistro of the Port Campbell Hotel with our own private dining room.

Breakfast is at the local Alcove Café prior to heading off the Otway Fly for an easy 1½ hours tree top walk in the Rain Forest followed by our venue for lunch at the Otway Fly Cafe. For those with a more adventurous spirit is the optional Zip Line Tour at the Otway Fly a 3½ hour eco wilderness tour from one platform the other zipping through the tree tops; if you wish to take up this offer please go to their web site (otwayfly.com.au) and book yourselves in for this tour, which is $103.50 each, (we should arrive at the Otway Fly in the morning around 10:30am – 11:00am).

After lunch we head for home via Colac and Inverleigh. Our motel accommodation is directly opposite a safe beach, so bring your bathers along for a swim before Dinner on Saturday Night and/or Breakfast on Sunday morning. Due to accommodation and meals venues there is a limit of 10 cars (20 people); so be quick to book.

DATES: Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th November 2013

COST: $165 per person. This cost includes 2 course lunch on Saturday at Chris’s Beacon Point, Motel accommodation (twin share) and entry into the Otway Fly on Sunday. Not included and at your cost is morning coffee at the Moriac Store, Dinner and Drinks at the Port Campbell Hotel Seafood Bistro, Breakfast on Sunday Morning at The Alcove Café and Lunch at the Otway Fly; as all of these venues were unable to provide a fixed price meal.

START TIME/LOCATION: Meet at 8.30am at McDonalds Derrimut on the Western Side of the Western Ring Road between Boundary Road and the Western Freeway. Reference Melways’ Map 40 B5. We depart sharply at 9.00am for our run after a welcome from your register captain and receipt of maps and instructions.
