Winton Winter Sprint

Although a little later in June, this year we are again running our Winton / DECA double header.

Winton on Saturday – It will be great to return to the Winton track after an absence of over 12 months. The track will open at 7am with scrutineering starting at 8am and timed laps from 9.30am.

Although not a very high speed track, Winton is very technical and a great track for learning or further developing your circuit driving skills.

We will be running the long circuit in the morning and the club (short) circuit in the afternoon.

Entry Fees - Winton $230, with an own number discount.

We have pressed Winton to improve the quality of their kiosk items, but will have to see how it goes on the day.  Our track hire agreement restricts us to using the Winton kiosk rather than an outside provider.

Saturday Night Dinner and Overnight Stay - we have booked Bohjass restaurant in Shepparton. The site of the very enjoyable evenings in previous years.

Friday option - A number of members have previously used Winton’s Test and Tune open day to get ready for our Saturday sprint. Winton will be open for public practice on Friday 17 June.  It costs $150, saloon cars get 20 minutes open pits every hour, and it runs from 9am to 4:00pm, gates open at 8 and close around 5:00. Entrée Class - Entrants in the entrée class get separate sessions of un-timed practice. You will have an experienced mentor allocated to assist you and if you think they have done a good job you can buy them a drink at the Saturday night dinner! No advanced driver training, fire extinguishers or dorians are required. All you need is a CAMS Level 2S Licence, an approved helmet, suitable clothing (see Supp Regs) and a roadworthy vehicle.
